Jeg faldt over en artikel der handler om US Jobless Claims.. Og de har det med at være en ganske god rettesnor for hvad der kommer til at ske med Økonomien fremover. Det mest skræmende er nok denne udtalelse:

The jobless rate has risen 0.6 percentage points since March. “When unemployment rises by more than 0.5% from its cycle low a recession generally ensues,” wrote Robert Brusca of FAO Economics.

The weak jobs report puts more pressure on the Federal Reserve to act aggressively to prevent a recession. Earlier in the week, the prescient Institute for Supply Management manufacturing index fell below the break-even 50% mark, dropping to a nearly four-year low.

Ahead of the report, the Fed was expected to cut its overnight lending rate by a quarter- percentage point later this month to further stimulate the economy, which has slowed significantly with the collapse of the housing market and turmoil in the credit markets. The surge in unemployment could encourage the Fed to cut rates by a half-point.

“The risk stemming from this is that consumers who face debt constraints may not see income growth as strong in coming months,” wrote Stephen Gallagher, U.S. economist for Societe Generale. For the Federal Reserve, however, the need to continue offering support to the markets and the economy only grows.

However, the Fed’s hands are tied somewhat by worries about inflation, and the jobs report added to those concerns. Average hourly earnings rose 7 cents, or 0.4%, in December, more than the 0.2% gain expected. Earnings have increased 3.7% in the past year.

To leopard or not to leopard ??

I am so very close to upgrading. As the super Apple lover I am.. I almost cant wait. But I have been putoff by many post regarding the not so succesful upgrades. Please help me.. Should I go or should I stay ??

This is why the really productive have made their move.

If you work from home then there are a number of tools that can make it easier for you to create the illusion that you are always in “the office”.

1. SkypeIn
In addition to Skype there is also SkypeIn, where you are issued with a phone number. Clients can call this number and you can receive it wherever you are – whether in the home, office or internet cafe when you are travelling – as long as you are connected to the internet.

A friend of mine doesn’t have a landline and uses her SkypeIn number as the primary phone number she give to friends and business associates. When people call her number, they are none the wiser as to where she actually is.

2. Bluetooth
Apart from being hands-free, it also enables you to be completely mobile. So you can go from the filing cabinet or the computer to sitting out in the garden while taking a long conference call.

3. Remote Access
With remote access it is possible to access your files from home and work. Previously there would be the need to copy files to a pen drive or even email certain files.

If you don’t have an office and work solely at home, ensure that you are not sharing your computer with kids. Keep everything separate, back up your files and keep the back up in an off site location.

4. Serviced Office
If you really want to create the image of a “the big office” and your address is a dead giveaway that you don’t work from a fancy office building, then consider getting a virtual address. There are many serviced offices that offer this – where you can simply get your mail delivered at their address.
